Why buy reclaimed building materials?

Reclaimed and refurbished materials keep usable products out of landfill and avoid the carbon of manufacturing new ones, usually at a lower price than buying new. Stocked items are already held by the seller, ready to dispatch.

How much carbon do reclaimed materials save?

Reusing a product avoids the emissions from extracting, manufacturing and transporting a new one. The saving varies by material and by how far it travels to your site.

Do reclaimed materials help with BREEAM and planning?

Yes. Reused materials can contribute towards BREEAM credits, and they support the Circular Economy Statement the GLA requires for referable planning applications in London.

Are reclaimed materials good quality?

Sellers must describe every item accurately, disclose any known defects and include photographs that truly represent its condition. Where a listing states a warranty or certification, the seller provides it on request.

How quickly can reclaimed materials be delivered?

Stocked items are ready to dispatch, so there is no manufacturing lead time. The seller arranges delivery unless agreed otherwise, and you can inspect everything when it arrives.

Can I return reclaimed materials?

Items are bought as seen, but if something is defective or materially different from its listing you can request a return within five business days of delivery. Your payment is held by Material Index until delivery is confirmed.
