About Material Index.

Material Index (MI) is a team of contractors, architects, engineers and software developers focussed on enabling reuse at scale in the construction industry.

We provide tools to the industry to help contractors, consultants and building owners reuse more materials. You can use our AI Audit app for creating detailed audits with advanced reporting features. You can also buy and sell materials on our marketplace.

We also offer pre-demolition audits, material passports, and material brokerage as services direct for clients, conducted by our expert in-house team.

Two Years of Oliver Lawson

Material Exchange Lead Oliver Lawson marked two years at Material Index, looking back on the milestones along the way — from his first project at Old Ford, a water treatment plant in Stratford, to our largest at GSK Brentford, and the launch of our first digital product, the material marketplace.
